    Thanks for this interesting summary of your article Dolly. It puts some new ideas into my head about the purpose of the animal introductions – bison & elk as animals and cat tail plants as productive improvements to landscape – in the Yukon Territory. I’ve previously not considered these beyond their given face value but your notion of polar imperialism suggest that these introductions also carry a cultural imperialism value (bison are just too obviously so) in modifying a foreign landscape into settler colonial place. These introductions continued to the recent past. Mahsi cho, I’m off to read the full article.
